Traditional Pavers

About Traditional Pavers: Traditional interlocking pavers have been used as roadway surfaces for thousands of years. They are usually installed on a sand setting bed and a graded aggregate base. The spaces between the pavers are then filled with either natural joint sand or polymeric joint sand to lock the pavers in place and promote sturdiness. Due to the high compressive strength of each unit, traditional pavers will not crack or deteriorate and can be used for high-traffic areas.

Design Considerations: Our pavers come in different styles and colors to accommodate your design needs. Stone pavers are more expensive than brick or concrete pavers, so material cost is something that should be discussed. Pavers are often positioned in intricate patterns to make landscape designs shine and their durability makes them great for outdoor areas.

When To Use:

Traditional pavers can be be used in most projects. They are durable and able to withstand freeze-thaw temperatures, making them ideal for either cool or warm weather environments. They can be used in plazas, parking areas, streets, pool decks, backyard patios, or a variety of environments. Their ability to withstand wear and tear makes them useful in driveways and walkways as well. They are not porous like permeable pavers, however, so they should not be used in areas where there is a high flooding rate.

Traditional Pavers in North Georgia: Traditional pavers can be used virtually anywhere and therefore are good for any infrastructure or building project. Fortress Walls has installed traditional pavers all over north Georgia, including Crabapple, Cumming, Rowell, Milton and Duluth.
